Product Description
The Illinois Braille Series is a classic program used to teach braille to former print readers. The new editions are embossed in standard-size braille. Both books accommodate the beginner with special formats, including double spacing to aid development of efficient hand movement.
Book Two
Book Two of the series introduces contracted braille in 25 sequential lessons. Rules, instructions and study tips are offered in uncontracted braille for access during learning. Each lesson includes explanations, examples and a writing exercise. Reading selections provide extended practice after each new set of contractions is studied. Because reading properly contracted braille is essential, the book contains a potpourri of enjoyable stories, poems, essays and articles to suit any interest. Successful completion of Book One is necessary before beginning a study of contracted braille using Book Two.
Book One presents the symbols of uncontracted braille in one volume; Book Two presents contracted braille in accordance with UEB order in two volumes. Administrators must purchase both a print and braille version.
Note: Each copy of Book One or Book Two, in print or braille, is sold separately.
